We visited Guernsey for a week, staying at La Grande Mare Hotel in one of the self-catering flats. On Sunday we were woken by the sound of strong wind and crashing waves. A tremendous storm was blowing. Went for a drive up to Pleinmont where I took some photos and played leaning into the wind. Other than this one windy day, the rest of the week was very good with much of the walking in T-shirts.. We went on a few walks, from the still good book called Walks with a car in Guernsey. This year we completed the following walks
- 10 The Talbot Valley
- 11 Fort George
- 13 Rocquaine Bay and Torteval
- 15 In the South of St Peter in the Wood
- 21 The Jerbourg Peninsula
- 23 Another Walkabout Town
We did a trip to Herm and collected shells on Shell Beach for the light back at home. Meals in several restaurants.
- A pretty good evening meal in La GrandeMare Hotel
- Very good tennerfest lunch in La Grand Mare, excellent value and three courses
- The Hollows
- Da Nello’s for lunch
- Excellent restaurant out towards Jerbourg
New thing we saw this year, was the German Naval Signals Headquarters.
