We set off on Thursday 22nd July driving over to La Clayette. On route, we stopped at Charolles for lunch. Steve ate a Tete de Veaux, while Selina at a steak. The campsite we were aiming for was Camping le chateau de Montrouant near to Gibles. Nice campsite, though there was a snake swimming in the lake. The nearby town of La Clayette was where we hired some bikes. Selina seemed to have forgotten all she knew about riding.
On Sunday we Visited a grotto near to Cluny, and back to La Clayette for trotting races.
On Monday Steve went for an inordinately long bicycle ride. selina and Rosemary examined the fauna around the campsite. Lovely lizards.
Into La Clayette to return the bikes, viewed the market and had the set meal of Coq Au Vin in the hotel.
Wednesday we set off to Peisey-Nancroix, camping at CAMPING LES LANCHETTES MY LANCHETTES. There was a lovely stream at the bottom of the site. We went for walks in the mountains. The flowers were wonderful. The walk was for over four hours.
Friday we travelled into Bourg St Maurice to book paragliding and rafting. Then we drove to Val d’Isere and took the cable car up the Belvedere. It was thunderstorm weather, rain, cold. Then back home via Les Arcs to figure out where Steve was going to fly from. More rain.
Saturday into Bourg St Maurice for the tourist bit. Steve then went paragliding, taken off to Les Arc. Selina and Rosemary waited for him at the landing spot.
Sunday we went into the Vanois, Steve haired off up the mountain, while Selina and Rosemary took it easy.
Monday went rafting
Tuesday we met up with the Eatons in Moutiers for lunch and a walk in the forest. We spent the time looking for mushrooms
