975 was my final year at Cambridge University. I received my degree in glorious sunshine. My parents and grandmother came to the ceremony. The rest of the summer was spent sailing on the Norfolk broads, and working for the East Anglian sewage company cleaning small rural sewage works.
Some pictures from Tyneside and the Enterprise championships.
During the Summer of 1975 my parents sold our family home at Waterloo near to Beccles. They bought a two acre pig farm in the Suffolk village of Gisslingham. The house was liveable in, but needed heating which was eventually installed. There were some old brick build piggeries where the weeners (40lb pigs) were kept in large groups. There was also a large purpose build piggery where the large pigs were fattened to slaughter weight.
The late summer was spent laying some concrete and erecting a feed building where grain was stored. I large hopper and mill were installed to grind and mix the pig feed.
The Gawthrops helped in the setup of the farm, you can see Tony and Janette.
