We had the annual tug of war between Kingswood and Wotton. Yet again lost by Kingswood. Not very well supported this year, in part caused by the very strong likelihood of thunderous rain. Actually the weather was not so bad, and the event was quite good fun, afterwards went around to George’s, where we had a go on his go kart.

Replanting the pond
Today was a lovely warm and sunny day. So we covered the conservatory with the ‘Oz’, to aid in keeping the temperature down. This is an external cover over the glass, made of what I can only describe as onion bag plastic material. Very effective, and very cheap.
Today decided to try an replant some of the water lilies which had grown so much and floated to the service
First Cut
Sunday, back at home, so the lawn was cut for the first time this year. Yes life is so exciting. Evening we went around to John and Carol for an excellent supper, and came away with a camera bag for our up coming holiday. I think this caused John much amusement with my previous opinions on camera bags. Any way this was very kind of John and Carol.
Cupboards in the spare bedroom
Coldest night we have had for several years, dropped down to -7 Celsius. Day was lovely and sunny. Keith has finished the cupboards in the spare bedroom, so we need to get decorating. Also worked outside and opened up the foot path.

We had John and Carol over for supper. Â Slow soak in the hot tub, beautiful dark, cold, and clear evening, followed by supper with a roaring log fire burning sustainable fuel in the house.

Richard
This weekend was gnerally cold and miserable. We though had Richard Fowler and Vicki round for lunch. Richard recently has returned to the village.
Selina and Graham turned up just as we were about to eat. They eventually stayed, we did have rather a large rib of beef to get through.
Dish Washer
Went into Bicester to purchase a replacement dish washer. Went for an up market Miele. Hopefully will last longer than the five year that the previous Hotpoint Aquarius lasted.
Planning
Our plans for the bungalow are now public, as are the Plough and Anchors hotel plans. All available on the web.
Saturday at home
Spent the morning prepping the evening meal, was going to be coriander and lemon chicken, preceded by an lovely green soup. The soup also is very spiced with coriander, cumin and chili.
Afternoon, had to catch up on two weeks of grass cutting, luckily the showers held off.
The evening was spent consuming copious amounts of wine and beer with the home cooked Indian meal with Ann and Chris, Selina and Graham.
Plough and Anchor –
Boxing day shoot at Peter Sheriffs, followed by stew and curry at the Plough and Anchor. I was there for rather too long, and was not much appreciated when I arrived home.
