The year started with Steve entering the third age. So now he has more time for gardening. The first job was to hire a guy to come around and cut down a few trees. Now have time to visit National Trust houses, the first being Greys Court, then Nuffield Place the house of William Morris the car manufacturer. In May we had a weekend away in Wales with the Cambridge Society.

Cambridge Society visit to Carmarthenshire, May 16th - May 18th. Visits to Dolaucothi Gold mine, Talley Abbey, Dinefwr Castle and Newton House, The National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens and the Gwili heritage railway at Bronwydd Arms.
Rosemary and I visited Ely on the 30th May - 1st June to celebrate the graduation of Emma (Maggie & Ravi's niece) and Ravi's upcoming 60th birthday. We stayed at the Lamb hotel, and partied in the Cutter. Norman, Valerie and Simon made up the other Sad Gits
Our trip to the Orkney Islands, the Shetland Islands and the Edinburgh Fringe was on the 19th July - 8th August. The trip around the islands was an archaeological trip with the Andante Travel Company, with a little bit of nature thrown in. For the Edinburgh Fringe Festival we camped at the Edinburgh Caravan Club Site for 8 nights.
