Went to the hospital and had the plaster removed. My broken leg has healed well, so the doctor says. Found it a bit painful walking as the ankle muscles are quite weak.

Cold Spell
What a change in the weather!!! Really cold today, after the record hot weather of the previous days it was time for the central heating to burst into life. At least the rain kept away. (Though with the fires I expect we could do with a bit of rain very soon).
Fish Supper at the Plough and Anchor
You might be forgiven if you thought I was advertising the P&A, but they do excellent food and as they are near at hand it really saves on the driving. Anyway they had a special Fish evening on Friday which Rosemary and I attended.
For Starters Rosemary had Smoked mackerel, horseradish and egg parsley tian, while I had Deep fried Cromer crab and red pimento soufflé.
Mains were Natural smoked Haddock and Salmon set on a lemon grass skewer with pilau rice and sweet and sour sauce, while I had Pan fried Sea Bass on a bed of Celery mashed Potatoes with Tomato Ragout. All very excellent including the desserts.
The day was very warm although there was a strong breeze blowing.
Aylesbury Bus Services
Thursday was the third day I tried and failed to catch the bus from work home. No wonder no one travels by bus. The first day the Red Rose bus went sailing past me at the bus stop. The second day was my fault, I did not understand the bus route and waited at the wrong place. The third day I waited for the bus for ages, well past the bus leaving time (15 minutes) and as I was walking back down the road the bus passed by. Thats it never again.
I mowed the grass
Sunday the sun shone, and it was very warm in the conservatory. Outside not so warm, but by the end of the day I was outside in a tee shirt. I managed to mow the outside of the field on the ride on mower despite the hurt leg. Most of the foot work on the mower has to be done with the right leg. (Not the broken leg). I was able to do quite a bit of walking without crutches on Sunday, and going up and downstairs is alot easier now I can put weight on the leg.
Hospital appointment and the end of the good weather
Today I had an appointment at the hospital to see my broken leg. Arrived on time for the 11.10 appointment and went onto to have another x-ray. The doctor (not the Mr Henderson) said the leg was healing well, the picture showed the leg much better. He was very interested to know that I had been walking on the leg before I had gone to A&E, not sure what he was trying to ascertain from this information. I now have a shoe over my plaster and am able to put weight on the foot though am still walking with crutches. The next appointment is Thursday 1st of May when hopefully the plaster will be off and I can go paragliding again. Today the day started with a very small sprinkling of snow, which turned into rain. Seems like the end of the beautiful weather.
The weekend
We stayed at home all this weekend. The broken leg is beginning to become a bit of an irritation. It is all a very good excuse for not doing those chores around the house and garden, but there becomes a limit. It is difficult to walk around the garden on crutches, with them disappearing into the soft soil and molehills. I was even considering driving around the field on the ride on lawn mower, but Rosemary intimated should would be so embarrassed and would not accompany me. On Thursday, after my appointment with the hospital, I hope to be able to put weight on the leg. So the extent of Saturday, (a beautiful sunny day), was a visit to Tesco and then lunch at the Plough and Anchor. The afternoon was spent sitting in the warm sunshine (conservatory), despite the sun it was still quite cool outside with the Northeast wind.Sunday was a cold cloudy day, (no rain though), and was a day for ironing (another chore which I have stopped doing), and the accounts, (can I leave the rat race yet). The afternoon was lunch, getting lots of better proper cooked lunches at the weekend, while we are at home not doing much. Then I spent an afternoon listening to all the Pink Floyd albums. I never did complete this task, despite five hours of solid listening. I was through all the older albums and stopped part way through Dark Side of the Moon. I still have the rest of the more recent albums to listen to.
